The NetGear M4500-48XF8C Managed Switch features 48 SFP28 ports and 8 QSFP28 ports. The SFP28s are pre configurated for 10G, and the QSFP28s for 100G. The M4500-48XF8C managed switch has a 4Tbps non blocking fabric while supporting bi-directional traffic at 48 x 25G and 8 x 100G. The M4500-48XF8C is designed to comfortably support the most demanding AV over IP applications, as well as a data centre networks. In addition, the M4500-48XF8C is equipped with dual APS750W modular power supplies and 6 fan trays for full redundancy and includes optional front and rear rack mounting. Packed to the brim with features the M4500-48XF8C managed switch is a highly reliable, no nonsense, manageable switch. It also has enhanced L2/L3/L4 services and has SDVoE certification and comes with Enhanced IGMP Plus technologies that support L2 multi-cast across both M4300 and M4500 managed switches, plug and play. Fully supporting static and dynamic routing protocols, the M4500-48XF8C is specifically designed for AV over IP and network deployments that require scalability and high performance.
NETGEAR’s M4500 series is home to two 100GE-ready switches designed exclusively for Pro AV, a significant advancement in AV over IP networking.
By utilising IGMP Plus, these switches obviate the need for complex Layer 3 routing, thereby allowing for large scale systems to be designed using the familiar Layer 2 methods; AV over IP implementations, with up to 96, inputs and outputs were achievable with a single switch and Layer 2 multicast, but larger installations required cost prohibitive, data-centre quality 100G switches with complicated Layer 3 multicast; complexity and expense.
